Send timed, targeted messages to your workforce. They show up as notifications when people sign in, and on the Announcements widget on their dashboard.
What you can do
- Broadcast a message to everyone in the company.
- Reach one department only.
- Reach one specific employee only.
- Set a validity window (from-date / to-date) so the message disappears on its own.
- Choose a severity — Info, Warning, or Error — which controls the icon and colour.
- Optionally attach an action link so the notification has an “Open” button that takes the user to that URL.
Before you start
Make sure each person’s HR record is linked to their company sign-in (the Related User field on the employee card). Announcements use this link to figure out who should see what.
Walkthroughs
Walkthrough 1 — Broadcast to everyone
Send a notice to all staff (e.g. an office-closure update).
- Search for Announcement List. Click New. A blank announcement card opens with a reference number filled in for you.
- Pick the Severity: Info (neutral), Warning (attention needed), or Error (urgent / alert-worthy).
- Type the Text (up to 500 characters).
- Set Target Audience to All.
- (Optional) Set From Date and To Date to define a validity window. If you leave them blank the announcement stays active forever.
- (Optional) Paste a URL into Action — the notification will show an “Open” button.
- Press Esc to save.
Anyone who signs in to the company will see this on their dashboard and as a top-of-screen notification.
Walkthrough 2 — Reach just one department
The Engineering team’s coffee machine is broken — only that team needs to know.
- Search for Announcement List → New.
- Pick Severity Info and write the message.
- Set Target Audience to Department.
- In Audience Value, pick the department (e.g.
ENG).
- Press Esc to save.
Only Engineering staff see this notice.
Walkthrough 3 — Reach one specific employee
An employee’s contract renewal is due — they need a personal reminder.
- Search for Announcement List → New.
- Pick Severity Warning and write a personal message (e.g. Your contract renewal is due 2026-09-30 — please confirm with HR.).
- Set Target Audience to Employee.
- In Audience Value, pick the employee.
- Set From Date to today and To Date to the deadline.
- Press Esc to save.
Only this employee sees the announcement, until the To Date.
Walkthrough 4 — Make sure people actually see your announcement
For a person to receive announcements, their HR record must be linked to their company sign-in.
- Open the employee’s card.
- Confirm the Related User field is set to their account. If it’s blank or wrong, pick the right user from the dropdown.
- For department-targeted announcements, confirm the employee’s Department matches the announcement’s audience.
If you’re not sure whether an announcement is reaching its audience, sign in as the targeted user and look at the dashboard — you’ll see it under Notifications and in the Announcements widget.
